Introduction:

This report was designed to answer the initial questions of homeowners about indoor air investigations.

Purpose
The need for this report was determined after analyzing the amount of time spent answering the questions of homeowners on each job. Most initial questions are of a general nature and almost always the same. This report will be used on a request basis or mailed to customers before the initial investigation appointment.

Scope
The qualifications of all individuals and companies involved in the investigation are included to distinguish the IAQ field specialty. In helping the homeowner, who generally has limited knowledge, understand the processes involved a word glossary, equipment description and their uses are provided, as well as samples of IAQ written reports and laboratory reports. Since there are limitations and conditions to IAQ investigations, these are stated to clarify Indoor Air Services' position as an investigator.

Sources
The industry standards and procedures used in this report were obtained from the following sources: ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air-conditioning Engineers) IAQA (Indoor Air Quality Association) EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) ALA (American Lung Association)
